Building Code
All building work in New Zealand must comply with the Building Code, even if it doesn’t require a building consent. This ensures buildings are safe, healthy and durable for everyone who may use them.
H1 Energy Efficiency
sets physical conditions for energy performance, mostly through insulation & for some buildings also through hot water, lighting and HVAC systems
G7 Natural Light
requires habitable spaces to have adequate windows for natural light and visual awareness of the outside environment
E3 Internal Moisture
requires prevention of fungal growth & excessive moisture through insulation, space temperature, ventilation and disposal of overflow
