A new apartment building in the centre of Wellington city which offers a range of affordable 1 and 2 bedroom apartment designs. The building contains services and amenity spaces on the ground floor, then 36 single storey apartments over level 1, 2, and 3, followed by 80 mezzanine apartments across the levels above.

 

This project has undergone extensive modelling for NZ building code H1 (energy efficiency) and G7 (natural light) to ensure compliance was able to be achieved while also providing value management opportunities to help keep the project to a strict budget. Despite significant challenges, BXG was able to consult with the project team and formulate creative solutions to allow compliance to be achieved while balancing performance outcomes across H1 and G7, while also considering and consulting around overheating prevention recommendations to help ensure a more comfortable living environment for the future occupants.
